Chefs grate frozen foie gras and truffles. Home cooks grate apples, potatoes and chocolate. But did you know about grating butter? And that you can get an insanely good box grater for $7?
Love the new format! I was going to suggest the (probably annoyingly time-consuming) kj or calorie content, but probably best not to know for this delish dish 😁
I think I may know where you enjoyed your ‘cheese course’ served as a fluffy pyramid of finely grated Comte. I agree, simply superb. Loving the emails.
I prefer a more narrative style of method without numbers or introductory text, but that’s probably just me. Thanks for the grater recommendations and the recipe though!
I would argue for the Gourmet Series of Microplane. Rubber handles, metal frame. I've cracked a couple of the Home Series being a bit hard on the grating.
I've also had a request to see if I can make the recipe easier to print out in one page, which is a great idea. Will report back.
I like the new recipe format👨🍳

Me again, Mike Stalker. Love the upside down tip and that you put in the KMart box grater. I prefer it over the $$$ Microplane one - flexes too much.
Another yes vote for your new recipe format. 🥰

Love the new recipe format; makes perfect sense to me....it's how I think as I cook.
I like the new format. Your articles are informative and entertaining- keep up the great/grate work 🥨
I also like the new recipe format! Easier to read

New format fine; a bit Nigella- ish…
I’m happy with eg 1 > 6 steps, Vick

Good tip, thanks.
Yep. New format is ‘grate’. Could be a Terry joke
Ho ho. Thanks Jane.
