I love a good pork chop and adding the maple syrup mixture just tips it over into the sublime… and serving it with carrot and swede mash ( lashings of butter and pepper) is the perfect combo. Why don’t more people cook with swede? My father called it horse feed ( in his day) but a proper pastie cannot be proper without swede! Love your recipes and your chat.

Another great post Jill, and thank you for the bonus recipes. I would love to find one of those cabbages, but I think perhaps I need to go to a market rather than a supermarket, and the way you have described to cook it with the cheese sounds fabulous. Carrot and Swede mash, fab, another way to trick my husband into eating that vegetable (Swede). You are. It wrong about pork chops, sometimes can be a tough disaster, I made Pork Costolette the other night, such a fabulous recipe for pork and it is never anything but juicelicious. I will try your recipe, but unlike you I may not have the very best ingredients.
